WSJ Says Two New iPhones Launching in September

WSJ Says Two New iPhones Launching in SeptemberThe Wall Street Journal reported Monday that September will deliver Apple’s iPhone 5S and the still-rumored low-cost entry-level “plastic” iPhone 5C.

While no new hardware information was revealed in this morning’s report, “confirmation” of both models being introduced next month erases weeks of speculation that the iPhone 5C may not be released until close to the holiday season.

The WSJ report doesn’t guarantee that both devices will be unveiled on September 10th, but it is unlikely that Apple would hold two seperate media events in one month for launches within the same product category.

Apple’s suppliers in Asia started mass-producing components in June for both a standard iPhone featuring a metal casing and a lower-cost version, people who work at those companies said.

Sources in the Asian supply chain admit that Apple manufacturing partner Foxconn is under orders to prepare the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C for shipments in early September.
