Verizon Video Getting Replaced

News surfaced Tuesday that Verizon Wireless is shuttering its Verizon Video service next week.

Beginning December 15th, Verizon Video is being dumped in favor of Viewdini, the mobile video discovery app that Verizon rolled out earlier in 2012.

This will allow us to focus on bringing you the best video experience in wireless. With more choices and even more content, we introduce VIEWDINI, a new video service for your 4G Android/Apple device. Whether you enjoy exploring the universe of video for hours or quickly find exactly what you are looking for, viewdini is FREE to download and use.

“If you feel this diminishes the value of the bundle, you may log-in to www.MyVerizon.com or call Customer Care to have the feature removed from your account,” Verizon told subscribers this morning.

So what’s behind the decision. Verizon says it’s simply a reaction to the changing landscape of mobile and the technologies that best serve consumers.

“There’s now a whole new tech landscape in which both consumers and developers can interact like never before,” Verizon announced. “We’re evolving our strategy to further simplify today’s experience and meet the needs of tomorrow.”
