uTest is a “marketplace” of sorts that allows developers to test their software using the power of a 24,000+ strong community of professional testers across 162 countries. The company today announced a brand new addition with its launch of MobileAppTesting.com, a site dedicated to mobile app development and testing using the same theories pioneered by the uTest community.
The site will act as a gathering place for all things mobile. Remaining brand-neutral, the site will encourage collaboration and information sharing among mobile app designers, developers and testing professionals, featuring user-generated content, contests, product reviews and guest interviews with mobile execs and bloggers. From its press release, uTest states the new site will include content such as;
- Hard-earned lessons for entrepreneurs, techies and investors who want to create world-class mobile apps
- Overcoming obstacles unique to developing and testing apps for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Symbian
- Breaking news and product reviews (for apps, devices, networks and more) from top bloggers and journalists on the front lines of the mobile app explosion
- Interviews with mobile leaders, offering insights from across the worlds of mobile app marketing, design, development and testing
“ABI research forecasts nearly 6 billion mobile app downloads in 2010. That kind of growth means greater competition for anyone who wants to launch the next must-have app,” said Matt Johnston, uTest VP of Marketing & Community. “MobileAppTesting.com offers an active, agnostic view into the lives of mobile app companies – the challenges, opportunities and proven lessons of what works and what doesn’t. We’ll share it all, and along the way, we hope to inform and entertain our readers to advance the larger discussion around the world of mobile.”
