Twitter is getting into the business of photo filters. With a keen eye toward what the likes of Instagram, Facebook, and Snapseed are up to in the social photo sharing arena, the microblogging giant doesn’t want to be left out in the cold.

All Things D was the first to report the good news that the holidays may deliver a “sepia-toned little bird” under the tree this Christmas.

Twitter is making a big push to release a series of photo filters to be used inside the official Twitter app before the end of the year, according to sources familiar with the matter.

For now, Twitter won’t officially comment on the rumor.

But all indications suggest that big upgrades are on the way for Twitter and how users share their photos and interact with images.
