Tremor Media Acquires Transpera for Video Ad Expansion

Tremor Media has acquired Transpera.

According to Tech Crunch, which exclusively reported news of the acquisition before either party made a formal announcement, Tremor Media – the online video advertising network – is following through with its widely anticipated aggressive expansion into mobile video territory with the acquisition of Transpera, a thriving mobile video advertising solutions provider.

Financial details regarding the acquisition were not disclosed.

Transpera’s ad platform makes possible the distribution and monetization of videos across mobile devices and provides publishers with an opportunity to monetize one off mobile video ads.

As a result of the acquisition, Tremor Media can supplement its offerings to advertisers with the newly acquired ability to “target consumers on a number of platforms within one campaign buy.”

Transpera’s customers include MTV, CBS News, MSNBC and Discovery

Tremor has steadily been growing its network; most recently acquiring streaming ad placement service provider ScanScout. And according to comScore’s latest video metrix data, Tremor Media is the largest video ad network on the web, with 1 billion ad views in December (only behind Hulu).

According to the Tech Crunch report, Tremor Media boasts “the largest reach out of all video ad networks” (51.4%) in terms of total reach of the US population.
