The Year's Hottest New Mobile Hardware May Be Delayed

The Year's Hottest New Mobile Hardware May Be DelayedIt’s a bad, horrible, disgusting word to use around a mobile tech junkie — “delayed.”

If you know what’s good for you, you’ll avoid using that word whenever possible. However, it’s a word we must use to convey the latest speculation from Apple’s supply chain inside of Asia.

It looks like some of the hottest products in Apple’s pipeline may be… delayed.

Taiwanese newspaper UDN says Apple’s “phablet” — the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 — is still a few months away from entering mass production. In other words, despite months of hype that September would bring with it the new Apple phablet, it now longer appears that this particular device will launch alongside the “regular-sized” iPhone 6 in mid-September.

“According to fresh reports coming from the Chinese media, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 hasn’t entered its mass production stages just yet, further cementing the theory that the 5.5-inch model will be launched later than the smaller variant,” GforGames is reporting. “Whether or not this alleged decision is deliberate remains unknown.”

The delays may also encompass the next-gen iPad and iPad mini.
