Tatango’s Private Beta Is Live, Get Your Invite Now!

We mentioned Tatango at the beginning of the month when they were gearing up for the private beta launch of their group messaging service. As of July 15th, the beta launch is live and going strong. Since then, over 1,500 people have already requested invites in preparation for the upcoming launch. The folks at Tatango have been kind enough to extend 20 invites to the readers of Mobile Marketing Watch. Keep reading for more info.

For those who aren’t aware, the service offers simple web-based access to your groups list which allow you to simply send a mass-SMS to your groups with the click of a button. You can access your groups, and broadcast a message from your mobile device as well without paying an arm and leg. The service is completely ad-funded with the use of highly targeted text ads placed below each message. For a nominal monthly fee, you can opt to get rid of the advertisements for more commercial environments and higher usage.

Tatango, which was originally launched as NetworkText, was grown out of frustration on behalf of co-founder and CEO Derek Johnson during his college fraternity days when he found it difficult to broadcast a message to his members in an easy and cost-efficient manner. In trying to remedy the situation, NetworkText was born. In a short time, NetworkText grew to over 400,000 users and 17 million text messages sent- up to its rebirth as Tatango.

There’s a limited number of invites to its private beta launch, but we’ve managed to secure 20 invites for the first 20 readers that want to check it out. Send an email to beta@tatango.com with “Mobile Marketing Watch” in the subject line to receive your invite. Better hurry, as they’re going fast!
