The team at Tango has much to celebrate this weekend.
The prominent messaging and entertainment platform announced today that, in just three years, it has surpassed 150 million members – a 50 percent increase in six months alone.
The growth is tied to strategic changes Tango made starting in June by opening its platform to developers, followed closely in July with enabling social networking features.
“The rapid evolution of the mobile messaging space has presented numerous opportunities to create unique experiences as more consumers turn to their mobile devices to keep in touch with friends and family,” said Eric Setton, Tango co-founder and CTO. “After making a splash on the mobile scene with video calling three years ago, we’re proud that we now have 150 million members and are leading the trend of blending messaging, social networking and entertaining content into a single experience that our fans love.”
