On Thursday, T-Mobile and Lookout announced announced a new partnership that will provide T-Mobile customers added protection against mobile threats with the “Automatic App Security.”
Exclusive to T-Mobile customers, Lookout’s app will come preloaded on select devices this year and is expected on most Android devices in 2013.
“T-Mobile wants our customers to enjoy the full benefits of the smartphone or tablet experience, including worry-free access to applications, which is why we are taking extra measures to protect their devices, privacy and data,” says Ian McKerlich, vice president of product management for T-Mobile.
Lookout says that because Automatic App Security comes preloaded, T-Mobile customers are protected as soon as the device is turned on.
“Lookout already scans more than 36 million applications for T-Mobile customers every day,” adds McKerlich. “Preloading Automatic App Security on our devices allows even more customers to enjoy the security and peace of mind of knowing that they’re protected with the leading Android mobile security and antivirus app.”
