Study Finds Half of U.S. Households Now Own Apple Products with More on The Way

Apple has infiltrated one out of every two American households. That’s the finding of CNBC’s new All-America Economic survey, which highlights just how many American families are now in the Apple family.

According to the report, half of all U.S. households own at least one Apple product. And many of those that don’t, not surprisingly, want to change that reality very soon.

CNBC says that approximately 55 million homes contain Apple product buyers. And that number is poised to grow further as 1 in 10 homes without an iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Mac will have one in the next twelve months.

And the first purchase usually isn’t the last. CNBC says that, on average, Apple product owners usually have about three devices from the Cupertino, California-based tech giant.

“It’s a fantastic business model — the more of our products you own, the more likely you are to buy more,” says Jay Campbell, a vice president of Hart Research Associates, which helped CNBC execute the survey. “Planned obsolescence has always been a part of the technology industries sales model, but Apple has taken it to a whole new level.”
