MMW will be in Austin, Texas next month covering all the happenings from the 2015 presentation of the world renowned SXSW festival.
And today we can confirm something else that will be at SXSW: Steve Jobs — a long-awaited documentary about the late Apple CEO.
“The weeklong festival’s film lineup has just been announced, and it features a number of heavy hitters, including the world premiere of Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney’s new documentary Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine,” says Kwame Opam of The Verge.
Details behind Gibney’s new Jobs-inspired documentary are scarce, though it’s currently being billed as a re-examination of the Apple founder’s legacy. The film marks the director’s second festival outing of the year, after Going Clear, his Scientology documentary, debuted at Sundance to much acclaim.
On the heels of news that the Jobs documentary will debut at SXSW, Hollywood media sources confirmed late Wednesday that the eagerly anticipated Aaron Sorkin-written biopic on Steve Jobs will hit theaters on October 9th, 2015.
In the film, actor Michael Fassbender, who portrays Jobs, is joined by an all-star Oscar-buzzwothy cast including Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels, to name a few.
