Square Comes to Angie’s List

On Thursday, the popular national consumer review service known as Angie’s List announced a new partnership with Square.

The mobile payment platforms will now be included among the services offered via the Angie’s List Business Center mobile app.

On the surface, the partnership seems like a natural fit, particularly since the Angie’s List Business Center app lets companies accept payments in the field, track e-commerce purchases, create invoices, and respond to member reviews.

“Working with Square will help provide happier transactions for our members and service companies,” says Angie Hicks, company founder. “We’re excited to work with Square because they understand what small businesses need to succeed.”

In addition to implementing access to Square, which offers a free credit card reader allowing merchants to accept credit cards in return for a 2.75 percent fee from each transaction, Hicks said Angie’s List will continue to look for ways to further expand the modern conveniences of mobile to its members.

“Whether on site or at a customer’s home, people will now have a fast, reliable way to accept payments. With Square, Angie’s List businesses can focus their time and energy on what really matters—doing great work,” says Square co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey. “We’re proud to work with Angie’s List to make life easier for businesses of all sizes.”
