After invading U.S. shores just one year ago, Spotify has rapidly emerged as one of the most popular digital music services in the nation and around the world.

As of this writing, Spotify has reached 13 countries and has compiled a user base of 15 million people, 4 million of which are “premium” subscribers.

On Tuesday, Spotify’s momentum reached the Android platform after months of speculation that such a development was imminent.

Our latest app now offers free radio – the only radio where you can save the songs you love. It’s never been easier to discover, save and enjoy an unlimited amount of music on the go.

Based on details presented in the announcement this morning, Android device0 owners are no longer excluded from creating unlimited streaming radio stations from individual tracks, albums or artists.

“Every time you give a song a thumbs up (or down), Spotify learns,” the service’s website reads. “Our radio gets even better the more you listen. Premium users can enjoy a Premium radio experience that’s ad-free. Free users, you’ll hear occasional ad-breaks just like you do on your desktop.”
