Sony Pictures Television is excited (almost as much as I am) about their forthcoming launch a series of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit minisodes that will be born of the company’s multi-platform Minisode Network effort,

Available as part of Sony’s next-generation video entertainment network Crackle.com, the 26 five-minute minisodes will be plucked from full length Sports Illustrated Swimsuit television specials.

In case you’re wondering, the minisodes will feature Heidi Klum, Molly Sims, Petra Nemcova, Marisa Miller, Ana Kournikova and Jessica White.

More importantly (for those of you with mobile marketing in mind), this endeavor marks the first comprehensive effort by Sports Illustrated in the mobile marketing realm.

Although Sony Pictures Television will introduce the minisodes at Crackle.com, distribution will then expand to partner sites including YouTube, Hulu, MySpace, AOL and VEOH.
