Social Media Marketing Gets 'Pinned'

ChristaH9 years ago02 mins

Social Media Marketing Gets 'Pinned'While rarely if ever discussed in the same breath as other social media marketing giants like Facebook and Twitter, Pinterest is no pushover as a powerful platform for mobile social marketing.

And the popular pinboard-style social sharing platform knows it. Consequently, the company is reportedly planning to step up their advertising offerings next year.

“According to a source close to Pinterest who spoke exclusively with NativeMobile on Wednesday evening,” tech journalist Scott Parkhouse writes, “Pinterest is aiming to ramp up its advertising revenue through the ‘responsible’ expansion of its Promoted Pins offering.”

“They would like to see a 300% increase in Promoted Pins through 2015,” the source explains, adding that Pinterest takes the user experience very seriously and will stop short of “irritating users with ads” even if it means a reduction in prospective profits from the growing number of advertisers willing to pay a handsome fee for prime pin placement on targeted user streams.

Sources close to Pinterest says the company’s Promoted Pins program has begun a clear-cut success, with advertisers “seeing great results and developing a voracious appetite for more.”
