Recognized as a 2015 Smart Grid Product of the Year, Smart Customer Mobile (SCM), a single integrated platform enabling utility companies to establish customer engagement, has launched SCM Bill Savings Navigator. The new technology enables utilities to connect directly with income-qualifying customers and share information on cost-saving government-mandated efficiency rebate programs.
Developed by Smart Utility Systems, provider of cloud-based solutions focused on utility customer engagement and operational efficiency, the app is the only utility customer engagement solution addressing the needs of both the consumer and utility.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are 40 million low to mid income households in the U.S. that spend approximately $70 billion on utilities every year, or 14% of their total income. In comparison, the average household spends 6% and high-income households spend approximately 3% on energy. The low to mid income households also tend to reside in less energy-efficient homes.
SCM Bill Savings Navigator takes customers through four criteria and provides instant access to a complete list of all available and federal efficiency programs which users can opt to participate in by signing up through email, digital form, phone call, or scheduled appointment.
Deepak Garg, SUS chairman and CEO says “Our philanthropic goal is to make this information accessible to all, which is why we’ve built the SCM app not only to be ADA-compliant and cost-effective, but also with versions like Bill Savings Navigator for income-qualified citizens.
