In case you missed the news last week, you’re not alone. Largely flying under the radar were reports that Samsung is losing its longtime mobile marketing chief — at least for now.
“Kim Seok-pil has stepped down as Samsung’s head of mobile marketing due to health reasons,” CNET reported, following confirmation of the news from knowledgeable sources.
For some unknown reason, however, the departure is only being called a temporary one.
“Kim will return to Samsung at a later time, though it’s unclear in what capacity,” the report notes, adding that Samsung has already proceeded to appoint Lee Sang-chul as the new head of mobile marketing.
Lee was formerly in charge of Samsung’s Russia operations and also performed admirably as head of Samsung’s Latin America division.
