Samsung is taking a page from Apple and Google by planning its own monolithic annual developer’s conference.
Expected to resemble WWDC while rivaling Google I/O, Samsung’s first developer conference will take place this October in San Francisco.
The event will allow Samsung to actively push its Software Development Kits and other resources for themselves, independent of Google and other top industry players.
Samsung is announcing plans Monday for its largest-yet North American developer conference, a multiday event to take place Oct. 27-29 in San Francisco.
“The Korean electronics giant was short on details,” AllThingsD reports, “saying only that the conference will allow developers to ‘engage with industry leaders,’ ‘Collaborate with fellow developers,’ ‘Learn about new Samsung tools and SDKs,’ and ‘Create what’s next.'”
Registration will open later this summer.
