Two of the world’s most iconic captains of industry will bring their their media savvy, egos, and wallets together for a new venture that will be formally unveiled January 19th in San Francisco.

While the date is reportedly still subject to change, Reuters is confirming that News Corp. chief Rupert Murdoch and Apple CEO Steve Jobs will appear together at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art to formally reveal a new daily digital publication optimized for the iPad.

Known as The Daily, Murdoch’s iPad publication has been the talk of the media world over the past couple months, and the News Corp. chief has even dubbed it is ‘No. 1 most exciting project.’ The hush-hush project has been taking shape at the company’s Manhattan headquarters, but it will also have staffers in Los Angeles.

According to multiple published reports, Murdoch is believed to have invested upwards of $30 million in the venture, about which very few key details are known. Sources close to the project have indicated that The Daily will cost $0.99 cents per day and feature the work of accomplished, prominent journalists, including reporters and columnists who previously worked for The New Yorker, the Daily Beast, Forbes, AOL and Politico.

On Monday evening, Yahoo’s The Cutline reported that Jesse Angelo left Murdoch’s New York Post to run The Daily while former Viacom digital distribution boss Greg Clayman was tapped to run the business side.
