The mobile boom is leading to significant consequences for sales in the U.S. and Europe. That’s according to a new report from Frost & Sullivan.
“The value proposition of three specific mobile solution categories is being successfully communicated in the United States and Europe,” the report summary shared with MMW reads.
More than half of the businesses in these two regions view mobile software applications, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications and mobile device management (MDM) solutions as highly effective technologies.
Of these three mobile solution categories, mobile software applications are currently deployed by the highest percentage of businesses, however, MDM and M2M solutions are projected to experience the strongest near-term growth within the next two years.
“Industry-specific preferences have emerged around mobility, with the manufacturing and finance sectors leading in all three mobile solution categories in percent of companies deploying,” said Frost & Sullivan Mobile & Wireless Principal Analyst Jeanine Sterling. “Looking forward during the 2014-2016 time period, government and manufacturing expect to exhibit the highest levels of growth in each of these three categories.”
“In terms of regional patterns, U.S. firms have a somewhat higher affinity for mobile solutions than their European counterparts,” adds Sterling. “The current gap in deployment levels is expected to widen further for both mobile apps and MDM by 2016, indicating that the U.S. will continue to be a more lucrative market than Europe especially for these mobile solution providers.”
