Projections Through The Roof As Apple Gears Up for Q3 Earnings Call

On Tuesday, July 24, at 2 p.m. Pacific, Apple will report Q3 earnings. And it could set off fireworks for shares of AAPL if the latest lofty sales projections prove accurate.

In recent days, no shortage of leading Wall Street analysts have worked overtime to overhaul their projections for where Apple’s Q3 earnings will fall.

Among the biggest revisionists is Needham & Co.’s Charlie Wolf, who said Thursday that Apple probably sold more iPads than expected in the June 2012 quarter.

Wolf upped his iPad sales estimates to 20 million from the 13 million he projected just three months ago.

“In our view, it’s only a matter of time before iPad shipments exceed iPhone shipments,” writes Wolf. “The iPad is invading the business market at a much faster pace than the iPhone.”
