Overnight, Apple began taking pre-orders for its new iPhone 5C in 10 countries around the world.
Customers in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the UK were invited by Apple to go online to the company’s website or app to reserve their device before next Friday’s launch.
The new iPhone 5c, which features a hard-coated polycarbonate body, is available in blue, green, pink, yellow and white.
“iPhone 5c is everything iPhone 5 was and more, in an all-new design packed with great features,” says Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iPhone 5c is designed with a beautiful polycarbonate enclosure that looks and feels so solid in your hand.”
Upon launch, the iPhone 5C will be available on AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile.
In addition to these carriers, Walmart, Best Buy, Radio Shack and Target are among the top retailers expected to carry the iPhone 5C.
