Pinterest has been pinning its hopes to new user experiences of late.
Since announcing a new open registration process earlier this month (say goodbye to the invite-only sign up model) the world’s third largest social network is now revamping its mobile user experience on Android and iOS-powered devices.
“It may sound funny, but our goal has never been to keep you online,” Pinterest said on its official blog today. “Instead, we want to inspire you to go offline and do things that you love. Today, we’re making it easier to take your inspirations with you by providing new apps for Android, iPad and iPhone. The apps are now available for download at Apps.Pinterest.com.”
Whether you’re traveling to another city, checking out gadgets in a store, or cooking dinner in your kitchen, you can now take Pinterest with you. Our apps allow you to pin, discover, and access your account from wherever you choose.
According to new details about the apps in question, Pinterest says the refreshed Android app, for example, makes it simple and fast to pin.
But iPad owners “may have the best Pinterest experience yet, as “our new iPad app is perfect for sitting on the couch, on a train, or in bed where users can effortlessly discover, save and organize the things that interest them.”
The biggest changes, it seems, were reserved for the iPhone app.
“iPhone owners have made it clear that they want to see more pins,” the blog reads. “The faster, redesigned iPhone app introduces a 2-column layout that lets users see more, so that they can find the pins they’re looking for and get back to their lives more quickly.”
So… have you tried out any of the revamped Pinterest apps yet? If so, please weigh in on the new user experience and if you’re happier with the new changes.
