One Month Wait for Delivery of Online iPad 2 Orders

Supply and demand are yet to meet as far as Apple’s iPad 2 is concerned.

On Tuesday, Apple revised its estimated shipping time for orders placed online for the new iPad 2. Today’s shipping time extension marked the third shipping ETA revision in so many days. As it now stands, Apple says it may take four or five weeks for your iPad 2 to be delivered if you order online from Apple today.

“Demand for the next generation iPad 2 has been amazing,” Apple noted in a statement to the press Monday. “We are working hard to get iPad 2 into the hands of every customer who wants one as quickly as possible.”

On each of the iPad 2’s three business days of availability so far (Friday, Monday, and Tuesday), the approximate shipping time has been lengthened by a matter of weeks. Some analysts believe that delivery times could reach upwards of eight weeks before the end of this week.

Given the swelling demand and dwindling supplies, John Paczkowski of All Things Digital raised the prospect on Tuesday of a full-scale delay of Apple’s planned March 25th international launch.

Wall Street analysts believe that Apple has sold somewhere between 500,000 and 1 million iPad 2s since the product’s launch on Friday.
