This week, as Apple unveiled its new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, the rumor mill was proven correct about most predictions made ahead of Tuesday’s media event.
But one rumor that didn’t pan out is that Apple would roll out a new Apple TV. Since Apple hasn’t updated the hardware for its set top box since March of 2012, speculation is rampant that a long overdue refresh is on the way.
If the latest knowledgeable sources are correct in their assertions, the new Apple TV may finally arrive in October.
On Wednesday, tech industry insider MG Siegler tweeted that Apple’s new Apple TV hardware product will be ready within weeks.
“I guess those excited about a software refresh in a week are gonna be *really* excited when new Apple TV hardware is unveiled next month,” Siegler tweeted, prompting ramped up chatter again about the future of Apple TV.
As of this writing, however, is remains altogether unclear what features and upgrades Apple will deliver with a new Apple TV.
