In advance of their summer intensive on Mobile Marketing Strategies, NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies has developed an app to teach prospective students – or anyone with an interest – about mobile marketing.
The app features several lessons, all accessed via mobile. The class is self guided – mobile learners can determine their own pace.
This is the first such app that NYU-SCPS has developed (with sponsorship by Sprint and DudaMobile), and they hope that those that download the lessons will go on to enroll in the summer intensive. So students basically get to sample the class on their phones—which is a new trend that NYU is an early adapter of.
Those who complete the mobile course, will receive a 10% discount to the summer course which runs from July 29th – August 2nd. The class, available on iOS, Blackberry, Droid and Windows is now available.
“We aim to enhance the learning outcomes of all students; to support educators with global reach, new revenues, and brand extension; and to foster the value of content and associated subject matter experts,” says Angelo Biasi, adjunct professor at NYU-SCPS and founder/CEO of MassiveU.
