In the wake of recent high-profile tragedies prompting intense gun control debate, the National Rifle Association has been drawing both praise and criticism from different groups across the U.S.
On Monday, the debate grew more heated in response to a new app released by the NRA in Apple’s App Store.
“NRA: Practice Range” offers a “Safety, Training and Education” mode as well as a “2nd Amendment newsfeeds, gun law information centers and educational materials that you can access anywhere, anytime.”
Although more violent gun-related games certainly exist in the app stores of the mobile world today, some are blasting the NRA for the insensitive timing of the app’s release.
“NRA: Practice Range,” which is rated appropriate for gamers aged four and older, is also attracting applause in response to it’s presentation of “responsible” instructions for proper gun ownership and safety maintenance.
Regardless of where you stand, one reality is undeniable. The mobile presence of the NRA now factors into the debate raging on in the nation today.
