‘No Chance’ of Apple iPad Mini Launching Next Week

As MMW reported this morning, Apple has finally confirmed the longstanding rumor that the next-generation iPhone will be unveiled on September 12th.

On Tuesday, invitations to Apple’s media event were released and clearly indicate that the refreshed Apple smartphone will be introduced to the masses this month as originally intended.

The new iPhone should reach consumers and store shelves by September 21st, if industry estimates prove correct once again.

Throughout summer, as MMW readers will remember, rumors have abounded that Apple will release a so-called iPad Mini this fall. Apple is said to be interested in tapping into emerging tablet markets where the traditional iPad may be too expensive to enjoy rapid adoption.

Although rumored plans still call for the iPad Mini to arrive this fall, sources tell MMW that the iPad Mini will NOT be unveiled alongside the iPhone 5 next week.

Sources in the known confess that Apple will hold a distinct media event in mid-to-late October for the exclusive unveiling of the iPad Mini, which will likely be on sale before the 2012 holiday shopping season begins in earnest.
