According to the findings of a new study on social media usage, the time spent on major social networking sites ballooned between 2011 and 2012, expanding by approximately 30 billion minutes.

“While Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest remain popular with users aged 30 and over, it’s the formerly niche social platforms such as Reddit, Github and DeviantArt that can boast the highest representation amongst the important 18-29 demographic,” says Shea Bennett of MediaBistro.

Digital agency iAcquire recently teamed up with SurveyMonkey to explore the behavior of social media users. The findings led to this new infographic shared below.
