As an example of how a simple idea can provide powerful results, a new app available for iPhone, Blackberry and Android platforms called “BabbleOn” aims to give mobile social media users a voice — literally.
The new app, created by Las Vegas-based mobile application development firm Raster Media, is the first from a brand new startup aptly named BabbleOn Technologies, Inc. The app allows users to record and post voice-based updates to their Facebook accounts as well as the BabbleOn community. How it works is dead simple — you simply open the app (after you’ve initially connected it to your Facebook account that is), press and hold the large BabbleOn logo in the center of the screen while you record your message, and the app handles the rest by posting your recorded message to Facebook and the BabbleOn community if you choose. You can choose to post your voice message to either your wall on Facebook or a friend’s wall.
BabbleOn Technologies, Inc., headed by brothers Michael Mills and Tommy Mills, has the vision of not only creating innovative smartphone apps, but also social media communities. “An application like BabbleOn is the next step in the social media arena, and will certainly revolutionize the way we communicate online,” said Michael Mills, President and founder of BabbleOn. “This application will break down the walls of social media communication and allow users to create voice messages for all to actually hear. For instance, you can sing Happy Birthday to your sister who lives across the country, record your baby’s first words, tell all your friends all at once you just got engaged or just update your status… the possibilities are endless and more efficient and satisfying than typing a message.”
The development firm behind the app, Raster Media, has worked with numerous top rated brands including the likes of Ballys, UNLV, Four Seasons Resorts, Budweiser, Vegas.com and many others. The free app is available now from the Apple App Store, the Android Market and Blackberry App World.
