Netflix Sets New Streaming Record in June

Netflix is off to a great summer.

On Wednesday, the content streaming and DVD delivery giant announced that it’s users are turning to the Netflix platform more frequently and for longer durations.

“Netflix monthly viewing exceeded 1 billion hours for the first time ever in June,” announced Netflix boos Reed Hastings. “When House of Cards and Arrested Development debut, we’ll blow these records away. Keep going, Ted, we need even more!”

Hastings, in particular, singled out Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos for his work on bringing in so much fantastic content to the Netflix library.

“Congrats to Ted Sarandos, and his amazing content licensing team,” Hastings added. “Keep going, Ted, we need even more!”

Netflix now has more than 26 million subscribers across the globe – a new all-time high for the company – and 1.5 million more subscribers than the company had at the end of last year’s fourth quarter.
