Helping to end the month of February on one last growth spurt, AT&T said yesterday that several additional cities will be gaining 4G LTE coverage as of today.
Rolling out its “ultra-fast” 4G LTE cellular network at a staggering pace, AT&T confirms it has now enabled coverage in the following cities:
- Lawrence, Kansas
- Salinas and Monterey, California
- Tallahassee, Florida
The nation’s second largest mobile carrier admits to having already invested more than $725 million in its Kansas wireless and wireline networks from 2009 through 2012. AT&T launched 4G LTE in Wichita in July 2012 and Kansas City in November 2011.
AT&T’s marketing machine insists that it continues to cultivate the nation’s largest 4G network, covering more than 285 million people. That’s coverage in 3,000 more 4G cities and towns than Verizon, AT&T says.
AT&T also announced this week that it has effectively expanded its existing coverage in the three other large markets, which include Athens, Tennessee, Lafollette, Tennessee, and Tunica, Mississippi.
