Mojiva: Valentine’s Day Loves Mobile

Mojiva on Thursday published a comprehensive new mobile report focusing on retail mCommerce.

With smartphones and tablets putting purchase transaction at an arm’s length, Mojiva says, the distance between intent to purchase and purchase has never been so short.

To gain insight into how US consumers plan on using their mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) in relation to retail shopping in 2013, specifically Valentine’s Day, Mojiva conducted a study to measure consumer behaviors and attitudes with regard to mCommerce and mobile advertising.

Mojiva presents no shortage of interesting tidbits in the new report, including:

  • Over half of the men surveyed, 56%, would prefer to purchase a Valentine’s Day gift from their mobile device instead of visiting a retail location.
  • Over three-quarters, 79%, of consumers believe their mobile device will make purchasing a Valentine’s Day gift easier.
  • There is a slight shift in purchase behavior when it comes to using tablets to purchase a single Valentine’s Day gift; on their tablets, 48% of men and 40% of women would spend more the $50 on a single Valentine’s Day gift.
