To follow up on the success of Black Friday, we now have yet another shopping holiday to experience.
Mobigosee, a mobile marketing firm, is moving forward today with the launch of its mobile marketing alert service, Mobile Tuesday, despite the loss of several major marketing partners.
McDonald’s, Finish Line and RedTag remain on board.
The concept was born out of research showing that the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is a slow shopping day, as are many Tuesdays throughout the year. The Tuesday alerts are meant to encourage shopping on that day. An advertising campaign, including radio and outdoor media, will support the launch in 10 cities, in addition to an online presence.
The company is hoping to attract additional retailers with coupon strategies, in which Mobigosee is paid only when the mobile coupons are redeemed.
So far, 18,000 people have signed up for Mobile Tuesday updates.
“Mobile is the natural next generation of shopping,” said Tanya Penman, founder-CEO of Mobigosee. “We thought about waiting until next year, but … our belief is there’s a demand.”
