While Sprint Accelerator won’t kick off in Kansas City until February of 2016, that doesn’t mean now is a bad time to get excited.
Now, in fact, is the perfect time, especially if you’re infatuated with all things mHealth.
Next year, the Sprint Accelerator, powered by Techstars, will expand its scope from mobile health care to mobile technology of all types.
On Tuesday, Sprint and Techstars announced that innovative startups from around the U.S. and the world are welcome to apply to the 2016 program.
Ten startups will be selected.
In its third year, the three-month, immersive, mentor-driven program for startups will be conducted at the award-winning Sprint Accelerator facility in Kansas City. Participating companies relocate to Kansas City for the duration of the program to build and strengthen their businesses. Each company receives up to $120,000 in funding. The 2016 session will begin February 22 and conclude with Demo Day on May 24.
“Sprint and Techstars are committed to helping the best minds in the startup world introduce new, game-changing mobile tech solutions – that’s what the Sprint Accelerator is all about,” said Kevin McGinnis, vice president of Sprint/Pinsight Media+. “We are seeking amazing high-growth mobile tech companies to help infuse the entrepreneurial spirit within our company. In turn, Sprint offers insightful mentorship and resources for device engineering, product development, retail distribution, app monetization, digital analytics and more, to the select startups that earn a spot in the program.”
