Mobile Marketing Association Pushes Ahead with UK’s First Mobile Marketer Certification Program

The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) is moving ahead with what the organization is calling “phase one” of the UK’s first ever mobile marketer certification program.

In a press release issued this week, the MMA says the program in question, which was launched in North America in 2010 and will be rolled out worldwide this year, “represents the only globally recognized qualification in mobile marketing.”

In short, the MMA is offering an educational opportunity that lends both experience and credibility in the realm of mobile marketing.

MMA describes the certification process in terms of a three-tiered program designed to provide marketers with “the fundamental skills and knowledge that are critical for success in mobile marketing and create a seal of approval that brands, agencies and other organizations can use to identify the individuals and companies best qualified to create and execute mobile marketing campaigns.”

MMA says the program is open to individuals and organizations of all skill levels.

“As mobile marketing and advertising gains traction globally, it is imperative to equip marketers with the skills required to compete on a global level. With the technology evolving rapidly, it is also essential to keep abreast of all the changes in the industry, bearing in mind the personal nature of the mobile device for the consumer,” said Paul Berney, MMA CMO and MD for the EMEA region. “We have been really pleased with the Mobile Marketer Certification Program in the North American and Asia Pacific regions, and are looking forward to seeing our first MMA-certified mobile marketers in the UK.”
