Bright and early this morning, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences announced the nominations of the 85th Academy Awards.
Just in time for the nominations to be announced, the official Oscar companion app has been overhauled to support Android and to finally join the party at Facebook.
The Academy says its app is a “must-have” between nominations and Oscar Sunday.
During Oscar season, access complete nominee lists, trailers, buzz worthy videos, hosted specials on fashion and nominated films and actors, and more.
In recent years, Oscar night has proven to be one of the biggest nights for social media activity. As a result, the Academy has intelligently tapped into this trend with its revamped app.
The official Oscars app, for example, lets users fill out the “My Picks” interactive ballot and share personal selections with friends across social media channels.
