Digby, the Austin-based startup with the aim of helping retailers get on board with mobile commerce, mobile storefronts and native mobile applications has announced a series C financing round worth an estimated $8M.

Digby’s platform, which helps retailers design, deploy and manage mobile commerce optimized for smartphones, allows retailers to display rich product images and live catalogs as well as create native mobile applications for Android, iOS and Blackberry.  The company’s platform has already been widely used by several big name retailers including Costco, Toys “R” Us, The Home Depot, Lilly Pulitzer and 1-800-FLOWERS.  Most recently, Digby signed an agreement with AT&T to power its mobile commerce software platform for developers.

With its latest round, the startup has posted a total of $16M in financing since its inception, and plans to use the new cash injection to expand global operations including sales, marketing, client services, research and platform development, and for new client acquisitions.  With the mobile platform being the next frontier for many retailers, it’s no secret that mobile commerce startups like Digby are growing like wildfire.
