Mobile Advertising Leader Kargo Taps New VP of Research

kargoKargo, a mobile brand advertising powerhouse, confirmed to MMW on Monday the appointment of AJ Mathew to the newly created role of Vice President of Research.

Mathew joins Kargo from Apple, where he was the Global Head of Measurement & Insights for iAd.

Per the shared announcement, as VP of Research, Mathew is charged with driving the company’s vision to provide the industry with high quality, credible, scientific research.

As part of this effort, Mathew will create a cross-functional team that will help to design and implement custom research around product research, user experience testing, audience insights, market intelligence, advertising effectiveness, and media measurement, among others.

Bringing all of these research areas together will allow Kargo to develop cohesive insights and inform the development of new advertising effectiveness products.

“We’re very happy to have AJ on board to build out and lead a robust research team here at Kargo,” said President & COO Ryan McConville. “Hiring AJ is the first step in establishing Kargo’s reputation for thought leadership built around high-quality research and unique insights in mobile.”

“I’m very excited to join a company like Kargo that truly values credible, scientific research that doesn’t sacrifice quality,” AJ Mathew says of his appointment to the position. “Too often in our industry we see research efforts fragmented based on areas of specialization, resulting in insights that are in silos. Our goal is to tie all of these areas together to create holistic, high-quality research that reflects Kargo’s vision for elevating mobile.”
