On Thursday, Millennial Media published its latest Mobile Mix report, which delves into the remarkable growth of tablets observed by the juggernaut advertising platform last quarter.
Based on the findings presented in the November Mobile Mix publication, Apple was the leading manufacturer on MM’s platform in Q3, and over 30 percent of all impressions came from Apple devices.
Samsung was the second largest manufacturer on the platform, and made up nearly a quarter of all impressions.
Interestingly, 75 percent of impressions on Millennial Media’s platform came from smartphones, while 20 percent came from “non-phone connected devices” and 5 percent from feature phones. “Non-phone connected devices” (i.e. tablets, e-readers, etc.) increased a really impressive 6 percentage points year-over-year.
Millennial says that Android made up 52 percent of total impressions on the platform, compared to 34 percent for iOS. 15 of the top 20 mobile devices were running the Android OS. Following the release of iOS 6, the volume of impressions were 1200 percent greater than the impressions Millennial saw last year after the release of iOS 5.
