Millennial Media Snags Qualcomm Veteran To Lead Business Development and its Silicon Valley OfficeMillennial Media today announced some executive leadership changes, with the most prominent being the hiring of Isaac Babbs as the company’s new Senior Vice President of Business Development and the head of the company’s new San Francisco offices.

Babbs has a long history in the mobile, technology, media and entertainment industries and comes to Millennial from Qualcomm, where he was Vice President and General Manager, Qualcomm Services Labs, Inc. as well as Vice President, Business Development, Qualcomm, Inc.  Babbs has been a member of Millennial Media’s Advisory Board since 2006.

Among his many accomplishments before joining Millennial Media, Babbs led internal efforts aimed at commercializing and launching mobile services from within Qualcomm and, prior to joining Qualcomm, served as the president of mobile gaming company Sorrent — which become the foundation for Glu Mobile.   Prior to Sorrent, Babbs was an executive at Macromedia, where he co-founded shockwave.com, and led the audio-video division which was later sold to Apple.

In addition to his many executive roles, Babbs has founded and served as CEO of two additional companies; Tapatap, Inc. and Atlas Mobile — both of which were in the mobile gaming space and were acquired.  With such an impressive background related to the mobile channel, and in particular mobile engagement, Babbs was a perfect choice to lead Millennial into the next phase of growth.  “As a member of the Millennial Media Advisory Board, I’ve had a firsthand view of the company’s impressive growth over the past five years,” said Isaac Babbs. “With a stellar executive team, proven business model and leading position as the company powering the app economy, Millennial is an industry game changer.”

Babbs will lead the company’s Silicon Valley presence and will oversee the hiring of 15 to 20 software engineers over the coming months.  “Isaac has been a key innovator in the mobile, technology, media, and entertainment spaces for over 25 years, and his track record of being a catalyst for growth will be invaluable to Millennial Media,” said Paul Palmieri, President and CEO, Millennial Media. “He brings extensive relationships and mobile expertise, and we’re thrilled to have him officially join the team.”
