Millennial Media published its latest Mobile Mix Report for the month of October, detailing new stats on smartphone OS adoption and other impressive growth statistics.
Most notably, Millennial reports Android is now tied with Apple’s iOS as the leading smartphone OS platform on its network, with an 8% increase month-over-month and 37% impression share. Apple, which remains the leading device manufacturer on Millennial’s network, accounted for 25% of all impressions network-wide in October. Apple has held the top spot for the past 13 months.
Motorola moved into the number three spot in terms of device manufacturers, holding a 15% impressions share, with two new devices debuted on the Top 30 Mobile Device list — the Droid 2 and Droid X. RIM, while still declining, had six of the Top 30 Mobile Devices in October, with the BlackBerry Curve overtaking the Motorola Droid for the number two position.
