Our condolences go out to the Hotmail family.
The longtime email client has been officially pronounced dead by Microsoft.
The death of Hotmail, however, was not sudden or unanticipated. This week, as expected, Microsoft migrated all Hotmail users to its email client Outlook.
Although all Hotmail accounts are essentially going to be honored by way of the migration effort with Outlook, it’s still tough for some to part with their old hotmail email address.
“Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve completed upgrading all Hotmail customers to Outlook.com,” Microsoft said.
“Coupled with the growing organic excitement for Outlook.com, this has pushed us to over 400 million active Outlook.com accounts, including 125 million that are accessing email, calendar and contacts on a mobile device using Exchange ActiveSync,” the announcement added.
So… are you sad to see Hotmail go?
