It’s one of the hottest apps in the history of Apple’s iPad. And it wasn’t even here two months ago.
In March, Microsoft revealed its long-rumored Office suite for iPad. Since then, Microsoft has enjoyed an epic amount of success in the world of iOS.
The software giant confirmed yesterday that the app has been downloaded more than 27 million times.
Microsoft’s Julia White made the revelation during Monday’s keynote at the TechEd customer conference in Houston, Texas. White is general manager of Microsoft’s Office Division.
The growth is particularly impressive when you consider that Microsoft still requires users to purchase an in-app subscription if they want to unlock and utilize all that the software has to offer. Office for iPad is still categorized as a freemium app because users can view documents at no charge.
