As MMW reported Wednesday, Microsoft was believed to have confirmed that its ubiquitous Office suite is coming to iOS next March.

What a difference a day makes.

On Thursday, news contradicted Microsoft’s Czech division, which supposed announced earlier this week that Microsoft Office for iOS, Android, and multiple other platforms would launch in March of 2013.

But it now looks as though that announcement was either premature or just plain false.

Frank Shaw – head of corporate communications for Microsoft – said on Twitter today that the information disseminating from Microsoft’s Czech division is “not accurate.”

Shaw concluded that he and Microsoft have no further information to share for the time being. Although it should be noted that Microsoft has never publicly denied working on such a venture.

    According to the report, Microsoft will provide a new version of its Office Mobile apps suite that allows iPhone, iPad, and Android device owners to see Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents. Users will need a Microsoft account to view the content. The iOS version is expected in March 2013, with the Android one following two months later.
