On Monday, Mavenir Systems – a provider of mobile infrastructure solutions for LTE operators – revealed plans to acquire privately-held Airwide Solutions – a leading provider of mobile messaging solutions.
Mavenir presently boasts some 120 operator partners worldwide.
According to Mavenir, the acquisition positions the company as a strong global force fully capable of enabling mobile operators to transform their core network and launch converged voice, video and messaging services over LTE.
“With this acquisition, Mavenir Systems will strengthen its already advanced product portfolio and will be well positioned to support global mobile operators in their evolution to 4G networks,” says Pardeep Kohli, president and CEO, Mavenir Systems.
“Our increased global presence and our combined experience will instill a greater confidence in our customers as they rely on Mavenir to launch innovative LTE services quickly and cost effectively,” Kohliadds.
Financial aspects of the deal were not revealed, but the official world of Mavenir’s acquisition plans come just days after the company closed a Series E financing round to the tune of $40 million – a process led by August Capital, and including the likes of North Bridge Venture Partners, Austin Ventures, Alloy Ventures, Greenspring Associates and Cross Creek Capital.
