Marxent Announces Spin off of Retail Technology and Mobile Loyalty App Company

business-690675_960_720On Tuesday, Magnetic Mobile — Marxent’s former retail division and a formidable player in mobile-led consumer engagement technology — announced that the company is rapidly expanding.

The firm confirmed to MMW that Geoff Pattison has been hired as the new president in order to lead the strategic expansion of the company.

Prior to leading Magnetic, Pattison was most recently director of North American commercial capabilities for Dunnhumby. Pattison brings with him an extensive background in consumer marketing, shopping behavior, retail category management and is a leader at leveraging technology to drive both retailer & brand performance.

He joins Magnetic Mobile with an “impressive industry perspective that developed while working for iconic brands like P&G, Coca-Cola, MillerCoors and Clorox.”

“The Magnetic Mobile team impressed me with their nimble model. It has allowed them to out-think the major players in the space and to right-size big data and delivery services for retail loyalty. The technology has been proven out with established major retail clients over the course of many years. I couldn’t be more excited to bring it to market,” Pattison said.

Together with Magnetic Mobile co-founders, Beck and Barry Besecker, Pattison and the Magnetic team are building the next generation of retail loyalty and mobile technology using a proprietary approach that blends data, delivery and content. Combined, the leadership team includes the original inventors of customer loyalty systems for retail, has over 50 years of experience integrating data at the point of sale, and is behind one of retail’s most successful customer loyalty and mobile platforms.

Barry Besecker, the company’s co-founder and CTO, and a pioneer in enterprise content management and publishing systems, and Beck Besecker, co-founder and CEO, have extensive experience building interactive marketing solutions for Fortune 500 retailers and brands. Beck, in particular, has held leadership roles at Copient Technologies (now NCR AMS) and Catalina Marketing.
