The “Navigating the Marketing Law Maze” conference, which kicks off tomorrow in Chicago, is expected to draw more than 700 industry leaders to the Windy City.
To be held at Chicago’s Downtown Marriott Hotel November 5-7, this 36th Annual Brand Activation Association (BAA) Marketing Law Conference will welcome leading regulators, legislators, corporate counsel, marketers, and technology pioneers, as well as representatives of the nation’s leading law firms. The annual event examines legislative issues affecting the advertising and marketing industries.
“This conference grows more robust every year because marketing and advertising evolve so quickly,” said Ed Kabak, BAA’s Chief Legal Officer. “The speed and extent of changed laws and practices in the social and digital media, privacy, and intellectual property arenas and the evolving regulatory climate make this conference the one- stop shop to gather all practical legal knowledge, best practices, and deep understanding of the industry.”
There will be more than 57 presentations from about 120 speakers at the conference.
According to a statement provided to MMW, panels will include “Meet the Regulators” with representatives of the FTC and state attorneys general, and “Crossing the Border Without Crossing the Line,” which will examine global advertising compliance.
“The importance of this conference cannot be overstated,” according to Bonnie Carlson, President and CEO of the BAA. “The issues examined here will impact brands and consumers for years to come. It’s easy to see why so many industry leaders regard this as an event they can’t miss.”
Industry professionals and the general public are invited to keep up with the highlights at www.baalink.com, or Tweet/share pictures of the conference by adding hashtag #BAALaw2014 or by downloading the BAA 2014 Events Mobile App available through the Apple or Android app store.
