Apple, we’re told, has two major announcements on tap for September 9th.
The first will be the next-gen flagship smartphone believed to be called iPhone 6. The other will be Apple’s eagerly anticipated and intensely rumored inaugural smartwatch expected to be called iWatch.
John Paczkowski of Re/Code confirmed last night that Apple is ready to wow the tech world with both announcements at its September 9th media event.
“The new device will, predictably, make good use of Apple’s HealthKit health and fitness platform,” Paczkowski writes. “It will also — predictably — make good use of HomeKit, the company’s new framework for controlling connected devices — though it’s not clear how broadly or in what way.”
Rumors suggest that iWatch may even pack NFC or mobile payments capabilities.
For now, pricing and release date information with regard to iWatch remains unknown.
