On Tuesday, Apple generated almost as many headlines with its Apple Watch revelation as it did with the company’s record holiday quarter earnings.
Notwithstanding Apple’s blockbuster $18.04 billion in profit last quarter (fueled by nearly 75 million iPhones sold), the tech news world gravitated toward the admission by Apple CEO Tim Cook yesterday that the company’s long-awaited smartwatch is getting closer to shipping to customers.
We can now confirm that “early 2015″” means April 2015.
“I’m using it every day, and love it, and I can’t live without it,” Cook said during Apple’s Q1 earnings call.
It should be noted, however, that no hard date was given and estimated price ranges are still all over the map. Clearly, there’s more to be discovered with regard to Apple Watch. But at least we know April is when consumers will get their first hands-on experience with the hottest wearable in the works.
